The 1st XV game v Hamilton Bulls will now be played at Strathaven RFC’s 3G pitch at 3pm due to flooding in Hamilton. This weekend sees all youth sections in action, with the U14 boys heading across to Thurso to play games against Caithness & Shetland while the U16s head to Aberdeen to play Grammar U16s in the Plate at 11am at Rubislaw. The girls are off to Aberdeen as well, for a Day Camp from 12-3pm at Aberdeen Wanderers on Sunday. Back at home, the U18s get things underway at Picky on Saturday as they host Jed-Thistle in their plate match on the centre pitch at 12 noon, followed by an internal game between the “Bunfighters” & “Barrow-muir” on the outfield at 3pm. The 1st XV will be hoping to continue their excellent start to the season as they head away to play Hamilton RFC at 3pm, while the spectators will be hoping it doesn’t come down to a single point, last kick of the game scenario again for the sake of their nerves! The match will be streamed live by Rohallion on his YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@rohallionorkney), which is free to watch without an account. Please ignore any links you see on social media asking you to download an app or create an account, as these are just spam. Report them, block them and move on. The game will also be shown live in the clubhouse, while the not to be missed Scotland v Ireland World Cup showdown will be live at 8pm - something for everyone this weekend! Our under 13s had 19 players available for the game, a fantastic turnout, and wore yellow strips on the day.
Our under 14 squad had 16 players available and wore red/white strips. First up on Saturday at Picky are the Under 13s & 14s at noon, playing Caithness in either individual or combined teams depending on numbers.
The internal match between the Reds & Wasps kicks off at the slightly earlier than advertised time of 14:30, which should finish in plenty of time for everyone to get into the clubhouse to watch the Senior men play Boroughmuir down in Edinburgh. The 1st XV game will be shown live from 5pm and then followed by the Rugby World Cup fixture between South Africa & Ireland to round off your evening! On Sunday, the Under 16s are in plate action against Moray/Huntly at 12:00 and the clubhouse will be open from 4pm for the Scotland v Tonga game which kicks off at 16:45. |
